It's kind of the same old thing here. Class, homework, sleep (sort of), repeat. Boring for me and boring for you to read about.
The most exciting thing going on here is that there have been two of what campus security calls "strongarm robberies" this week. Some guy took a girl's phone last night and earlier in the week someone was robbed of their phone and other belongings. Both incidents happened in the same area and after dark. I don't know if it is the same robber or not.
We discussed more about Australopithecines in Primate Evolution this week. We are still working on that next week plus hominin origins as well.
In History of Anthropology, we read selections from Gramsci and discussed them. Google Gramsci if you don't know who that is. I had never heard of him before and I took the Development of Anthropological Theory in my undergrad.
My stats class is still learning how to set up variables in SPSS and to input data. They are also learning about summation, variance, standard deviation, mean, mode, range etc. All the basic stuff. If they were reading their stats textbook, they might not have that blank look on their face when Dr. Stevenson talks about these terms in class. That might be a bit much to ask though.
It will be a month before I hear anything about the funding proposal I submitted last week. I wish they would hurry up.
This is probably not going to be a very busy quarter for me in my classes, so I really need to be using this time to get some of my thesis writing done. I can't start my experiment quite yet, but I can write up the history and background sections. I need to get some colored sticky note flags to color code my research binder.
I think I will go home next weekend and hang out with my family again.
