Spring Quarter: Week 1

It's spring quarter. That means less than 10 weeks until summer break! I really enjoyed being home during my spring break. Hopefully I will get to go home again soon.

I have three classes this quarter totaling 11 credits. I am TA-ing again as well.

I am taking Primate Evolution (Anth 525), History of Anthropology (Anth 501) and another quarter of the required Research Mentorship (500).

I was supposed to TA another quarter of Intro to Biological Anthropology for a different professor than winter quarter, but due to schedule conflicts, I am the graduate teaching assistant for Quantitative Methods instead. (That's statistics for those of you who don't know.)  I took stats. in my undergrad, even though it wasn't required for graduation. It is required for grad school though. Take it if you are working on your BA and think you might want to go to grad school. I would have had to take it here if I hadn't already done so. This might be a good thing for me. It will give me a chance to refresh my memory, which will help me since I need stats to analyze the data from my thesis.

I won't be grading as many assignments this quarter. There are only about 30 students in the class. It is still an early lab though. It meets three days a week at 8:30 am.

It is definitely spring around here. Everything is green and the flowers are blooming. The glass rooftop outside our dorm window is covered in pollen. No wonder my allergies are crazy right now.

Crystal and I went on a walk through the arboretum behind our dorms the other day. It;s beautiful out there. There are some neat rock formations too.

Spring in the dorms is gonna be Hell! All you can hear in the courtyard is skateboards and giggling (aka the mating call of the millennial female). They are out there all day long and late into the night, There were even people out there early this morning, but I think they were just coming back from wherever they were for the night. I need a long range squirt gun. Or water balloons.

I am working on my thesis. I need to start of list of necessary equipment and supplies so I can write a grant proposal.  My list will include a supply of beef liver and the whatever is needed to rear maggots. Fun times.

Here's an updated chart for the Names Yelled in the Courtyard game...

Oddly enough, Wolfman Jack was yelled out there. Damn Daniel is still in the lead, with Heather in second. Crystal and OMG just made the list. Who do you think will be the winner? I think Damn Daniel's 15 minutes of fame are over, so I don't anticipate adding anymore of that to the list.Or I really hope this is the case.
