Week 8: Homestretch

Things were a little better this week. There's still no sign of my books or the book thief and there probably won't be, but the one I needed to write my final presentation for History of Anth showed up. I checked with the library and my missing library book will be $90 to replace. It's still not due yet, so I still don't technically owe it yet.

We're still covering behavior and evolution in Primate Evolution. We just finished talking about Epigenetics and Neuroscience in History of Anthropology. We start our final presentations tomorrow. Dr. Young is going first. She is going to talk about Anthropology and Gender as well as Trauma and Recovery. The rest of us are scheduled later this week, next week and me on June 2nd.

The stats students are going over non-parametric stats right now. Their final is June 8th.

I got an email this weekend that said this "The Graduate Research Review Committee was impressed by the quality of your project entitled "Predicting the Interval Between Death and Insect Colonization Based on Climatic Conditions" and has recommended full funding for your project in the amount of $1,000.00." Yay!

In the dorm, things have been mostly quiet except for the girl who likes to hang out in the courtyard during quiet hours and laugh like a cross between a demented Woody Woodpecker and Tickle Me Elmo. She might end up in the pond if she doesn't make better choices.

I didn't go home this last weekend, but it was Districts for Track. Jared earned first in discus and will be returning to state next weekend. He earned third in shot, but only the top two move on to state. State is at EWU and I will be home for that. I will have a four day weekend because of Memorial Day. It will be nice to have an extra day in between my long drives.
