Drive Back to School

I'm back at WWU. Classes start on Tuesday.

The drive over here was a little messy. I saw 19 cars in the ditch even before I got to Snoqualmie Pass. Most of them were people who passed the rest of us (who were doing a sane speed limit for the conditions) because they have magic cars that don't slip on the ice. Or not.

My drive took an extra two hours. At one point, it took me over an hour to go less than 2 miles. It didn't seem slippery through this section about 16 miles from Snoqualmie, but traffic crawled.

Guardrails full of snow

My trusty co-pilot. I know how to get here, but I like to know the mileage and eta. (See Mom, I am only going 4mph in a 65mph.)

The snow along the side of the road is as tall as the cars. I don't remember if there is a guardrail in there or if it is all snow.

Traffic all of a sudden moves faster.

Then slows again...

Frozen waterfalls

As soon as you come down the other side of the mountains, the snow disappears and the temperature goes up. It was 40 and rainy instead of 18 and snowing.
